Learning Spanish Today

Is learning Spanish and Galician at the same time a recipe for disastor?

I know some Spanish already, so I want to continue in it and start learning Galician. Would this be a wise idea? It’d be akin (somewhat, in spelling mostly) to learning Spanish and Portuguese.

I’ve heard of Spanish and speak a bit of it; but, Galician?

Now, that’s a new one.

Hmmm, Portuguese once used to be Galician?

Well, all the best.

Peace.
