Learn Spanish fast online if you want to sound like a native speaker when visiting south of the border or just have a better experience. If you want an interactive way to learn through seeing, speaking, listening and writing this approach will work well. If only one of these styles works best for you, it will still be easy to use the other approaches to strengthen your understanding of the language.

Spanish is considered one of the easier languages to learn. It has very few exceptions to grammar rules. By spending a few minutes daily on the language practice, you can soon have a much increased level of understanding. Unlike English, you won’t need to memorize pages of exceptions to the rules of grammar and pronunciation.

One of the major advantages of your learning experience on the Internet is the convenience aspect. Majority of the language sites have availability around the clock seven days a week. If you want to study at three in the morning it won?t be an issue. No dressing up to get to class, no finding a tutor, just go to the web.

Using the interactive capabilities of an Internet website means that you are hearing the very latest words and pronunciations in a way that won’t happen with a printed textbook. If you are using an interactive site, you will hear the correct pronunciation and learn to speak it with ease. Language changes over time, so Internet will reflect the most current meanings and even slang words.

Learn Spanish fast online for help with schooling, business conferences, and traveling. On the web you will be able to access chat rooms that will have you speak with others who are also studying the language. You will probably find someone that is willing to help you with your Spanish if you are willing to help them with their English.

There seems to be a million ways to learn how to speak Spanish online at the moment. Interactive courses, web pages, daily Spanish blogs, online audio courses, and even online video are all used as tools to help us learn to speak Spanish. Unfortunately, this plethora of tools and techniques can become a little confusing when you’re looking for a simple and easy going way to start your Spanish studies. How do you know which of the many systems to use?

First of all, you’re going to need the answers to a couple of questions:

Why am I learning Spanish?

Although there are many, many different systems for learning Spanish, there are essentially only two types of content contained within the courses: Conversational Spanish or academic Spanish. While the conversational style will suit anyone who is learning the language in order to travel and communicate, the academic style will be more suited to people who want help with their Spanish lessons at school. Each style offers many options, at various costs, which brings us to the next question…

How much am I willing to spend?

If you’re just starting out with your Spanish studies, it’s a good idea to spend as little as possible, until you’ve figured out which of the many language learning systems will work best for you. Try the free courses that are available first, and then expand on the knowledge you gain there with a more full-featured, paid course.

As well as the few totally free ones, there are lots of free trials available for online Spanish courses at the moment, and you should really make the most of this by trying before you buy.

Having said that, please don’t overload yourself by trying different courses out at the same time! This never works – you’ll simply lose focus and not get very far with any of them. This is one of the biggest mistakes that people make when trying to find a course that works for their own learning style. Try one at a time, if it’s not working for you, ditch it and move on to the next.

Once you’ve decided, the trick is to stick with it and not overwhelm yourself. Little and often is the key here – if you try to fit too much in every day, you’ll get sick of it and give up, and if you do long sessions sporadically, you won’t progress very quickly. So I’ll repeat: Little and often! Make a time each and every day, even if it’s just 15 minutes, to take the time for your Spanish studies.

The old fashioned way to learn Spanish has been to start as if the student were a first grader. You learn the basics, such as grammar, simple words, and the alphabet in Spanish. You continue to advance in this manner all through your studies.

One problem with this method is that while students may nominally advance through the course of study, they may not really know how to converse fluently. Talking in a casual setting is quite different than speaking in a formal class.

Because of this, there’s been a gradual change in Spanish instruction methodology. One type of course is called “conversational Spanish.” Due to the nature of these classes, they require an instructor who is highly fluent in conversational Spanish.

Many purists think it is best to use the “sink or swim” method. Just immerse yourself in the culture and stumble along until you learn the language. For the most part, you learn the words in Spanish that are most needed for conversation. Words can be small like “and, or, she, what,” for example.

Once you have mastered the basics, you will get a small book of topics of conversation. There are approximately 2 brief pages about each subject. Related words are given for each topic. At this point some questions will be asked to get the conversation going.

In this kind of learning, the book is the place to start. It provides topics, but it is not the central focus of the class. It’s possible, for example, to be given a story about going on a road trip. There are different words to label different aspects of the car, such as the wheels. Words are given for stops along the way, as an example, the word for gas station.

You will begin with the conversation starters. So, for example, the question might be, “How did you prepare your car for the last trip you took?” In answer, students can utilize all of their topic words and combine them with any other Spanish words they might know. By doing this, they will answer the question and learn conversational Spanish.

Assuming the class is run using best practices, it will be a lively exchange of ideas where everyone gets to participate. As you increase your knowledge of Spanish, you’ll be able to say more interesting things about each topic. You can use words you’ve learned from previous lessons.

After you have completed a few of the lessons, it may be suggested for you to put aside the book to do some of the lessons. At times like these, you can speak about yourself. You can make new friends. In addition to learning Spanish, you will also be learning about your classmates. You will find out what they do and what they enjoy.

Of course, you will not be able to have a normal conversation with just the topic words. They are just there to give you a jumping off point. This is the place for the facilitator. As you attempt to describe your meaning, you have the opportunity to use whatever Spanish words you do know. When you have successfully made your point, your facilitator will give you the word.

In conversations during classes, the facilitator helps you, but also classmates can give help to each other. The whole group must work together to get a conversation started and keep it going. The more you learn Spanish, the more pleasant you will find it. It will soon become effortless.

by George Dodge

Since the ability to speak Spanish enables more effective communication between employees, co-workers, clients and customers, speaking Spanish is becoming more important in business and career development. Bilingual speakers of English and Spanish are finding an increasing demand for their skills.

Speaking Spanish is also becoming more important in business and career matters. People who are bilingual in English and Spanish are in increasing demand in the market place. Knowledge of Spanish will enable you to more effectively communicate with co-workers, clients, customers and employees who speak Spanish as their native tongue.

Recent marketing studies conclude that in North America, the Hispanic population of customers is the most rapidly growing segment of the market, which has many companies scrambling to attract and accommodate the Spanish speaking crowd. This further enhances the value of learning Spanish.

This means learning Spanish can be quite a career boosting endeavor. It can mean advancement in your chosen career, or it can open doors to other careers that otherwise might not have been available to you. More frequently, listing that you are bilingual on your resume can help you to get noticed and increase the likelihood of getting an interview. In the US, speaking Spanish will be especially helpful to you if you work in the areas of healthcare, education or building and construction.

There are well over thirty-five million Spanish speaking citizens in the US, and estimates say that over 40 percent of the increase in the US population is within the Hispanic community. This means that, as time passes, the need to learn Spanish will continue to increase. With the increase in globalization and free-trade between the US and Mexico and other countries in Central and South America, there is no doubt that the people who take the time and make the effort to become bilingual, especially in Spanish, will have a clear advantage over those who are only English speaking.

The popularity of learning Spanish as a second language is growing not only in the US but also in many other countries of the world. As a second language, Spanish is the second most studied language, after English, in Europe. Native Spanish speakers exceed 400 million people worldwide making it the third most widely spoken native language, following Mandarin and Hindi. Considering the widespread use of Spanish and the rapid growth rate of the Hispanic sector of the population in the US, one can readily see that learning Spanish as a second language could be a wise choice

It is also a certainty that Spanish will help to expand your universe of experiences and people. With the continued growth of the Hispanic population, it will become increasingly likely that you will have more interactions with people from the Hispanic community. For example, you or a relative might marry into a Hispanic family, you might have Spanish speaking families in your neighborhood, have Hispanic employers or employees, or simply have more interactions with Spanish speaking people in the routine course of your day. I know I do.

I recently became acutely aware of the benefits of speaking a second language when my son married into a trilingual family that speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese fluently. They can travel with ease anywhere in the Western Hemisphere as well as many other parts of the world and be easily understood.

Learning Spanish will also help you to have a greater understanding and appreciation for the Hispanic culture and the impact that it has had on other cultures around the globe. There are numerous great writers, poets, musicians, architects, and other artists who have Hispanic roots and have contributed significantly to world culture. And, the wonderful foods of Spain, Mexico and other Latin American lands gives you even more reasons to embrace the Spanish language, its people and its colorful traditions.
